"I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly," these words are sang by Kelly Clarkson, in a song that I have always felt describes the way I feel about my life. My name is Nic Behrens, I was born on February 21 st, 1983, in Germany. I was given the name Nicole on account of my then Six year old brothers' love for the singer who won the Grandprix de Eurovision in 1982. To this day I still hate it, because it is a far too common name here in Germany, where I have spent the first Twenty-four years of my life.

I grew up in the small relatively unknown village, with both of my parents and my older brother. Always a creative person, I began singing at age 4; standing on my bedroom floor holding a hairbrush to my lips, pretending to be Madonna. Other hobby's included painting, acting and making up stories. At the ripe age of Thirteen, I decided that the English they taught us in school wasn't enough so I purchased a few books to learn more, as a result I am now completely fluent. Also, at the age of Thirteen I started dancing lessons, which I absolutely loved, unfortunately my dancing career was somewhat short lived, as I was forced to stop three years later on account of an injured knee.

I have previously worked in the homicide division of a state attorney's office, which can get incredibly disgusting, but it does provide for great writing material. My interests include history, parapsychology, languages and travelling. I have been to London, England; Vancouver; British Columbia, Seattle, Washington and LA, California the latter of which I am dying to go again. Still living in my hometown, which is literary in the middle of nowhere, I can’t wait to get out and explore the rest of the world.

Writing has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, whenever something bad happens I try to find a way to work it into my writing. For example my grandfathers death inspired me to write several songs and poems, I guess for me, it’s almost therapeutic. Once I catch an interest in something I have a tendency to put every ounce of energy I have into learning as much as possible about whatever it is, and screen writing was no exception! Five years ago I began to learn everything I could, purchasing several books and bombarding all of my writer friends with question after question. Almost instantly I had found what I want to do for the rest of my life.
